People are funny. They complain about giant corporations controlling everything but then when some individual or small group of people try to make some money, they complain that they are attempting to sell something, or worse, they complain that it isn't free.
It is so bad that some people think an artist selling their own work is too commercial for them. Let me say that again. An artist selling their work is considered bad. They called it enshittification since they want everything for free and they don't like the idea of someone selling something or making money.
Sometimes I am tempted to reply:
"Okay, I guess we should work for giant corporations instead of start our own businesses. Or we should just give away our labor for free since asking for money is considered enshittification. After all, only corporations should pay fair wages. Everyone else is entitled to get everything for free, right? That will solve the problem of corporations having too much control over our life, right? We remain poor while they make all the money. Problem solved. We win, right? Right?"
These people keep themselves poor, and like rats in a barrel, try to drag anyone else down who tries to be successful. And then they wonder why corporations run the world. They are giving away their power to others instead of using their power for good.
And it's not their fault. They were never taught the law of a fair exchange. They were never taught how to create value in the world and then trade that for fair compensation. They have only seen exploitation. They only have seen a power imbalance. So they don't realize that you can actually have fair trade, and that there is such a thing as a win-win-win situation.
